I suppose it would mean quite a lot to me – I’ve not really won anything like this before and I guess the money would be put to good use in my department.

It would also be a great way of realising I’m not so bad a scientist after all…

Winning for me will mean a victory for you children and a victory for science. It will mean you kids appreciate the role of science in our lives. Thanks little101.

It would mean a lot to me! This is the first time that I participate in an event where I have to explain young people what I do and what is like to be a scientist. Winning would mean that I have done it quite all right.
Winning also would mean that the prize would be donated to the In2scienceUK charity, who are doing an excellent job helping students from low-income backgrounds doing their A-levels to get an internship in a lab over the summer to learn by themselves how is science like.

But if I don’t win, it doesn’t matter, because it has been an amazing experience!

I’ve already had a fantastic time answering lots of great questions from curious young minds so I guess at this point winning would be great because it means I’ve answered the questions well and have been able to share some of my work with young students. The prize money would also go towards another event where scientists get to talk to other people who are interested in science but haven’t had the chance to take part in a competition like this one through their school.
