      The babies head is positioned in the womb so it is facing downwards and pointing towards the vagina. The womb is directly connected to the vagina, and so the baby gets out by the muscles in the wall of the vagina pushing the baby down and out of the womb. These are what the contractions are when a woman gives birth.
