      That’s a difficult one.

I like reading research and finding out about the area that I’m working in, and I suppose I quite enjoy the reading/writing aspect of science. On the other hand, doing experiments and getting data mean you can apply what you get to the research that is already done.

Definitely doing experiments! Reading all the research available in your field is very important to plan the right experiments, to avoid doing something that somebody else has already done. But, doing experiments is much more fun; it is when you really test your hypothesis and find out if you are right or wrong. Also it involves working with zebrafish and using cool machines!

Research is a process of answering a question
Experiments are the tools that we use to help answer the question

      They are the same thing.

As a scientist experiments are the procedures we use during our research which is to find a solution to potential problems.Researchers in the arts and social sciences do not necessarily do experiments but for those of us in science and medical sciences, experiments are almost inevitable.
