I spend a lot of time researching insects – insects are amazing, they help to pollinate our crops providing us with food, they are a valuable food source for other species such as birds and sometimes people too, they help to keep soils and freshwater healthy which helps plants grow and fish survive. If we lost our insects we would be in trouble – my research is helping to understand how they live, develop and reproduce so that we can help them keep our natural spaces healthy.

My work does not really have an environmental component to it but we a very conscious of proper waste disposal and management. Intact we receive special training for this purpose.
