I normally work 9-5 Monday to Friday but my work often falls outside of that too, so I may work weekends or into the early evening depending on how busy I am. So I guess at a minimum I work 40 hours a week but it’s normally more.

It has changed over time. When I was a university student I worked ALL THE TIME, including weekends, bank holidays, sometimes I was even in the lab over Christmas! However, now that I am a lot more experienced at my job I am able to get more things done in a shorter amount of time and I also have the support of a research technician to help with my lab work, so I have a much more regular working life and try to keep my weekends free and take regular breaks.

I usually work from 9 am to 6 0r 7 pm, but I could stay longer if I need to finish an experiment. I might also work on Saturdays or Sundays depending on the experiment I’m doing that week. But I’d say I work a minimum of 40 or 45 hours.
