      In reality, I imagine it would be the internet, as I have known a world before and after it, and its transformed the world (I think, on the whole, for good).

      In fiction, it would be interstellar travel. I think if human beings managed to get to other planets and find other life, it would pale our differences on Earth into insignificance.

      I’m with Chris, it would be the internet.

      In fiction, I’d say teleportation. I really like travelling, but I hate the time you have to waste in a train, car or plane.
