      At the moment I am using tiny fruit flies like the kind you might find hovering over your fruit bowl or over the compost heap to look at how genes for different behaviour are passed from parents to their offspring. These are very useful flies, they don’t carry any diseases and will happily live in the laboratory in small mesh cages with a nice bit of porridge for about 2-3 months.
