When you work in research you discover new things all the time, I guess that’s why I like it so much. My work in cancer resulted in the discovery of how a gene in prostate cancer interacted with other genes, and my current work has shown a gene that might be involved in the placenta when the mother of a baby has diabetes.

I’m trying to understand the genes that regulate the development of the brown/black pigment cells in our skin, called melanocytes. I have discovered 2 new genes that are regulating this processes that we didn’t know previously.
