My experiments are always about looking at what the animal does naturally. I try not to damage them or cause them distress because I am interested in how they behave in the wild, how they cope with the weather and the land, how they find a partner and how they raise their offspring. To keep them in the lab I have to feed them slightly differently to their natural diet, but they really do seem to love the porridge that we make for them and it contains all the essential nutrients that they need to survive and reproduce.
